Zombies ate my game tuning

April 14th, 2011

It occurs to me that I should probably start posting some game design stuff on this blog.  Or maybe just some stuff in general.

I play a lot of Facebook games.  It is my job, and also, I like them.  But there seems to be an attention to detail that is lacking on Facebook games as opposed to traditional console or boxed computer games.   Perhaps this is because the development cycles of social games are so short and games don’t spend much time in QA.  Maybe it is because game developers can continue to tweak and tune games after they are released.  Whatever the reason, there are some classic mistakes out there.

Here’s an example from a game that, for the most part, I like: Zombie Lane.  Can you spot the tuning error?

Hula Show - November 2010

Hula Show - November 2010

Our yearly hula show will take place on November 20, 2010, at the Lanterman Auditorium in La Canada.  This year is special as it marks the 10 year anniversary of our Halau Hula (hula school).  There will be live musicians, and I promise it will be well worth the $25 admission!

For tickets, please email me, or call the number on the image and tell them that I referred you.

Mahalo!
